All About Coaching

Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

As your coach, I will:

  • Practice astute listening and contribute observations and questions which help you to set personal and professional goals.
  • Encourage you to take courageous action in the service of your goals.
  • Challenge blind spots in order to illuminate new possibilities.
  • Act as a sounding board and a cheerleader to help you reach your potential.

How does coaching work?

Coaching is most effective when 1) the client is willing to grow, and 2) there is a gap between where he/she is now and where he/she wants to be.

Coaching works because of three unique features:

  • SYNERGY: Client and coach are a team, focusing on the client's goals and needs and thereby accomplishing more than the client would alone.

  • STRUCTURE: The coach provides accountability for the client, which encourages them to think bigger and take more powerful action.

  • EXPERTISE: Coaches are trained to help people identify their core values, set goals from a place of vision,  make choices that are in alignment with their values, and ultimately achieve what they want in their lives.

Successful coaching clients know the value of sharing ideas with someone who understands them! Talking about options with someone who can listen is often enough to have it all become very clear.

Coaching empowers you to discover, create, and produce the results you want most in your life, powerfully and effectively.

Coaching is a collaborative process that supports you to gain clarity, take action, and experience more freedom and choice in all areas of your life. It is a two step process, a dance of learning and action. Coaching is about deepening the learning of your life and forwarding the action.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential". Coaches listen, observe, and elicit solutions from their clients, rather than instruct and advise.
